About the Lazy Cat Lounge
The Lazy Cat Lounge is Lafayette’s first ever cat cafe, located right on Main Street in Lafayette’s downtown strip. We opened our doors in November 2019 and have since seen hundreds of adoptions to loving families.
Our cat cafe is constantly undergoing new improvements for both our guests and kitties, so make sure to stop by whenever you’d like to see what’s new!
About the Owner & Team
Kennedy Van Meter is the owner of the Lazy Cat Lounge. She originally went to school to be a veterinary assistant in 2018, but received a diagnosis for Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome soon after.
This led Kennedy to open the Lazy Cat Lounge in 2019, providing a safe and flexible working environment for her herself and her staff while still giving her the ability to pursue her passion of helping the animals in her community.

All the cats at the Lazy Cat Lounge are provided through the My New Cat Rescue. Adoption inquiries are encouraged, and anyone is welcome to book a visiting spot to meet our available cats and their wonderful personalities!
